Australia in Style

7 Feburary to 2 March 2012
Australia

Join us on a tour to the Antipodes, which is intended to be a relaxing, luxury tour, taking in most of Australia’s main highlights. The tour has been carefully researched by PTG, working in close collaboration with Australian Railways.

We will be using Australian Railways for most of our surface travel and will traverse a significant proportion of their main line routes. We will also be visiting several of Australia’s renowned preserved railway lines. Australia has so much to offer, in both its natural environment and its beautiful cities.

Our aim is to provide a “once in a lifetime” memorable tour to this unique continent. One of the highlights will undoubtedly be the two days we spend on The Ghan, travelling down from Darwin, on which we will have a private, chartered carriage “The Prince of Wales” for exclusive use by PTG clients with a lounge and sleepers for 10, with Gold Standard accommodation for the rest of our party.

In addition to the 23 day inclusive tour, there is the opportunity of extending the tour for a visit to Queensland with more rail and natural highlights. The tour will be fully escorted throughout by Stephen Martin, who has worked with Australian Railways in devising the tour. The maximum number of clients we are anticipating is twenty.

QUEENSLAND “ADD-ON”

We wanted to offer clients the opportunity to extend their stay – particularly given the travel time required to get to and from Australia. We also wanted people to have the opportunity to see Queensland, which is quite different from other areas of Australia we are visiting. There is also much of rail interest in this area. However, a further consideration was to offer more time for rest and relaxation at the end of a fairly intensive 3 week schedule. We hope we have achieved these objectives and feel that this 5 night extension offers excellent value for money. It will be fully escorted by our PTG representative. Full details on request.
