For
2010 we return to central Canada with a focus on VIA Rail’s corridor
routes between Quebec City and Windsor. New this year will be a
three-day rail journey on the Ontario Northland to the Aboriginal
Community of Moosonee on the shore of James Bay. This year we will cover
close to 1700 miles of which 600+ will be new for PTG on the Ontario
Northland. The trip will be 15 days, including departure day, and
includes hotels in Montreal (Delta), Toronto (Strathcona), London
(Station Park), and Cochrane (Best Western) for a total of 14 nights.
The holiday is timed for early fall to hopefully offer a view of the
fall colours, especially in the Northern parts of Ontario. Highlights
will include a visit to Exporail (National Railway Museum),
Hull-Wakefield Steam Train (now back in operation after government
assistance), Niagara Falls, ONR Polar Bear Express, and historic Quebec
City.
